Logistics Centre in Henstedt-Ulzburg

Garbe Logistic AG is developing a 16,500 m² logistics centre in Henstedt-Ulzburg adjacent to the motorway A7 between Hamburg and Neumünster for Caterpillar Motors Incorporated (Caterpillar Motoren GmbH & Co. KG), a manufacturer of diesel engines. Roundabout twelve million Euros will be invested in this project.

The warehouse will be built on a lot size of 67,000 m² which Garbe Logistic AG purchased from the community of Henstedt-Ulzburg. The area is located directly at the Henstedt-Ulzburg motorway exit in an industrial area approximately 30 kilometres north of Hamburg and 18 kilometres from the airport.

A two phase construction is planned where initially a 16,500 m² logistics centre will be built on an area of 33,000 m². The warehouse height will be 11.5 metres and incorporate a space of 15,000 m² plus about 1,450 m² of office space.

The property is equipped with twelve docks and two cranes each having a lifting capacity of 30 tonnes. Also available are a special heavy-duty area for stocking motor parts and a space for material testing.

Garbe and Caterpillar are establishing a long-term partnership which will be strengthened in the next four years through the expansion of the logistics centre with a second construction phase of a 15,000 m² warehouse.
