Logistics rail hub in logport - Danone

On the logport grounds in the Duisburg habour, Garbe Logistic AG is constructing a new logistics centre for the freight forwarder Reiner Bohnen and Danone Waters. From there, the “evian” and “Volvic” brands will be distributed from the North to central Germany commencing in 2010. The completion date has been projected for the current year.

Presently, a 30,000 m² logistics rail hub exists on an area of 70,000 m². 500 m² have been designated for office space and 10,000 m² as open space for the storage of the empties. Moreover, an expansion space of 35,000 m² is available. 20 parking spaces for lorries, as well as parking for 60 automobile spaces have been planned. Garbe Logistic AG has invested a total of 15 million Euros for building the new logistics centre wherein 60 new jobs have been created. The multi-use property has been jointly developed by Garbe, Danone Waters, Duisburg harbour, and Reiner Bohnen Internationale Spedition GmbH & Co. KG. At the beginning of next year, Bohnen, a mid-sized logistics expert, will take over the logistics warehouse as the lessee for Danone Waters.
